Over $1.1 billion invested in construction in Tajikistan in 2020

About 1.4 million square meters of housing were put into operation in Tajikistan in 2020, the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the government of the republic reports.

Last year new general education schools for 13,500 student places, polyclinics - for 436 visits, and hospitals – for 577 beds also began operating.

In total, more than 11.6 billion somoni (more than $1.1 billion at the average 2020 exchange rate) in investment from all sources was directed to construction work in the past year.

For the state expert review last year, 658 projects were submitted, of which 538 passed the review, 115 – are at the consideration stage, 3 – were annulled, and consideration of 2 projects was temporarily suspended.

To date, the development of master plans for 65 cities and districts of the republic has been completed, which have already been adopted by government decrees.
